Shades are the souls of mortals who have died. Shades can be found in the Underworld, where many work for Underworld Corp. Other shades can be found waiting on the shores of Acheron, where they remain for 100 years if they do not have an obol to pay the Underworld ferryman, Charon. Shades that have been determined to be evil are imprisoned in Tartarus for all eternity.
Most shades resemble their former mortal selves, but have become pale bluish white in color. Other shades appear more ghostly, with pupil-less eyes and a trail of mist following them. The shades in Tartarus resemble emaciated skeletons with armor.
