Hebe is the Goddess of Youth and the Cupbearer of the Gods. She is the youngest child of Zeus and Hera, the younger sister of Eris, Ares, Eileithyia, and Hephaestus, and the younger half-sister of Athena, Artemis, and Apollo.

Appearance[]

Hebe inherited Hera's golden skin and long golden hair and Zeus's purple eyes. As a child, she was often seen wearing a complementary or matching outfit to her mother's. As a teenager, she mostly wears green dresses. She's gotten her ears pierced and has a mole below her left eye like her mother's.

Personality[]

As a child, Hebe was very sensible and perceptive, seemingly knowing that there was a deeper meaning to her parent's bickering. She clearly loved her family, spending time with both parents, her siblings, and her uncle Hades. Even as a child, she could and would tell it like it is, and served as insight for her mother. Hera would wonder if her daughter had "more emotional intelligence" than her.

After the ten-year time skip, Hebe has grown into a kind teenager, and remains sensible in regards to her father's decisions. However, she is also anxious to confront him over them. She laments that she is not more like her mother, because otherwise she would "be more outspoken and not too cowardly" to tell her father what she thinks about his decisions.

Relationships[]

Parents[]

Zeus[]

Zeus & hebe

Zeus is Hebe's father. When she was young, she appeared to enjoy spending time with him, visiting him at work with her mother and falling asleep watching television with him. However, Hebe was quick to give him the cold shoulder when he did things that upset her. She ignored him after he sent her brother Ares away, lamenting how she was "destined for a life of solitude."

Presently, Hebe remains close with her father. However, she appears to disagree with his decision to keep Persephone in the Mortal Realm, telling him that she feels it is a punishment for everyone, even him. Although Hebe is too afraid to confront him to his face further, while venting to a comatose Hera, Zeus overhears Hebe doubting him. She explains that she once believed he was in charge for the right reasons, but now she feels having blind faith in him isn't helpful in their situation. She also laments that she misses having them all together as a family, causing Zeus to look pained.

Hera[]

Hades hebe hera

Like mother, like daughter.

Hera is Hebe's mother. The two look nearly identical, a fact accentuated by a child Hebe always being dressed in an outfit that matched her mother's. Hebe was a voice of reason for her mother: after Hera and Zeus argued about Hades' attraction to Persephone, Hebe argued back that Hera is upset with Zeus and taking it out on Hades. While Hera dismissed this at first, she later wondered if Hebe may have more emotional intelligence than her, realizing she had treated Hades unfairly.

At one point, Hera used Hebe as a way to guilt Hades into coming to visit. When Persephone showed up, both Hera and Hebe had matching grins at the prospect of Persephone and Hades joining them for dinner. Hebe was not afraid to check her parent's behavior and showed annoyance at both Zeus and Hera when she found them spying on Hades and Persephone later that evening, calling them "perverts."

Hebe deeply cares for her mother; When Hera's old scars suddenly reopened after a nightmare, Hebe was by Hera's side along with Echo. Likewise, Hera is clearly protective of her daughter; As Persephone and Demeter's trial went on and Eris appeared, the two were seen beside Amphitrite and her son, Hera protecting a scared Hebe.

When Hera is in her "sleep sickness," Hebe clearly misses her, coming to her room to care for her and speak with her. Despite Hera being unable to hear, Hebe vents to her about the situation, laments that she is not as strong as Hera is, and begins to cry when saying that she misses her and their family being together.

Hera hugged Hebe after Kronos was defeated, implying Hebe was still at her side caring for her when she woke up.

Siblings[]

Eris[]

Eris is Hebe's oldest sister. While there is no information regarding their relationship, Hebe was visibly afraid upon her arrival at Persephone's trial and clung to Hera in fear. It is likely that Hebe has never formally met her sister.

Hephaestus[]

Hephaestus is Hebe's older brother. Because he has distanced himself from the family, the two have yet to meet. Hera has told Hephaestus that Hebe would love to meet him, and he tells her he'll think about it.

Ares[]

Ares is Hebe's older brother. She seems to get along with him very well. Upon his return to Olympus, she signed her name on his arm cast. She likes to hang out with him and is upset when Zeus sends him away, giving her father the cold shoulder after the fact.

Athena[]

Athena is Hebe's older half-sister. There is no information regarding their relationship. Hera has mentioned Hebe having an older sister that lives with them, but it has not been confirmed if this sister is Athena or another sister that has yet to be seen.

Artemis[]

Although unknown to Hebe for many years, Artemis is Hebe's older half-sister through Zeus. There is no information regarding their relationship prior to Artemis discovering the truth about her parentage. During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, extending their family tree.

Apollo[]

Although unknown to Hebe for some time, Apollo is Hebe's older half-brother through Zeus. There is no information regarding their relationship. During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, extending their family tree.

Extended Family[]

Hades[]

Hades is one of Hebe's uncles through Zeus. Hebe and Hades are shown to be very close. She feels bad for Hades when Hera shows disapproval over his new feelings for Persephone. Hebe defends Hades to Hera, pointing out that she's taking her anger out on Hades because of her arguments with Zeus. It would be because of her talk with Hebe that Hera decided to put Hades through a series of tests to see if he was worthy of becoming a suitor for Persephone.

When Hades comes to drop Hera off, Hera persuades him to come inside and surprise Hebe. When Hebe comes down and sees Hades, she is excited and hugs him, stating that he hasn't visited her in forever. He argues that he has come to visit but Hebe then states that it's technically been three months since his last visit. When Persephone arrives, both Hera and Hebe are thrilled to force Hades and Persephone to stay for dinner. Hebe would later catch and call her parents "perverts" for spying on Hades and Persephone in the garden.

In the present, Hebe appears to have pity for Hades, coming to speak with her father about Persephone's punishment being lifted. However, she is unable to tell him how she feels.

Storge[]

Storge is Hebe's nephew, but the two appear to be very close in age and have become close friends after the 10-year time skip. Storge is supportive of Hebe, having rehearsed a confrontation with Zeus with her, and then gives her a pep talk when she reveals she could not confront her father. He also appears to care for her, asking her if she will be okay visiting her mother.
