Gods and Goddesses are immortal, humanoid deities in Lore Olympus, based on the real world pantheon of Greek gods. There are a number of Gods and Goddesses, and each presides over a certain aspect (or multiple aspects), which are reflected in their duties and innate powers. In Lore Olympus, the Gods have varying skin and hair colors, which sets them apart from mortals. Like mortals, they have rounded ears, which sets them apart from nymphs and other species that live in the Godly realms. Unlike other "lower" beings, their blood is made up of a liquid called Ichor, the golden color an unequivocal symbol of their divine nature.

As the Gods have roles of varying importance, there appears to be a hierarchy among them: the three kings, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, are at the top, followed by the rest of the 6 Traitors Dynasty and the Olympians. A comment by Zeus and Apollo about Persephone being a "b-grade goddess" and Apollo's disdain for Thanatos being a "chthonic god" show that not all of them are on equal footing.

Gods and goddesses are capable of exhibiting a wide range of supernatural abilities tied to the aspect of nature they embody. For example, Apollo, being the god of the sun, can radiate a blinding light from his body, imbue his arrows with fire, increase the temperature of his body, control the movement of the star king, etc. In addition, all the gods share a series of powers once they have obtained full control of their divinity (a fact that almost always coincides when they reach their final form and stop aging). These powers are: Flight ability, teleportation between planes or within the same plane, transformation into a specific animal, being able to curse other inferior beings, transfiguration of clothes, generation of matter, transformation between a form that contains its power and the liberated or true form, etc.

There are also Goddesses that share one specialty but with their own unique abilities. This includes Erinyes (Goddesses of Vengeance), Muses (Goddesses of the Arts and Science), and Fates (Chthonic Goddesses of Fate)

The gods also can bless other newborn beings by granting gifts such as intelligence, generosity, creativity, beauty. Even "flaws" such as wrath can be considered blessings (depending on the point of view).

The Olympians[]

The Olympians are a group of major Gods and Goddesses who are the primary deities worshipped by mortals. They reside primarily on Olympus. In Lore Olympus, they appear to be "selected" by Zeus and other members of the royal family due to their popularity with the mortals and overall abilities. In Greek Mythology, there are 12 Olympians but there have been some debate as to whether the 12th Olympian is the Goddess Hestia or the God Dionysus. As Dionysus has not been introduced, it can be assumed that the 12 Olympians are:

  • Aphrodite
  • Apollo
  • Ares
  • Artemis
  • Athena
  • Demeter
  • Hephaestus
  • Hera
  • Hermes
  • Hestia
  • Poseidon
  • Zeus

Chthonic Deities[]

Chthonic deities are those that reside in the Underworld. It appears there is a stigma associated with them, as Apollo complains of Thanatos' "underworld stank."

Fertility Goddesses[]

Titans and Titanesses[]

Main article: Titans (Species)

Titans are also considered Gods, although they are a previous generation and are set apart from the current ruling pantheon. They also appear much larger than modern-day deities, although Leto shows that this may be a conscious choice.

Primordial Deities[]

Main article: Primordial Deities

The primordial deities were the first gods to exist and gave birth to both Titans and gods. They represent the primary aspects of nature such as heaven, earth, darkness, etc. The humanoid primordials are colossal in size, and several of them do not have a specific physical form.
