Remember, Hera doesn’t like Zeus that much, and I’m happy to settle for the same arrangement. I don’t need you to like me to be my wife. I know more about you than you realize.
― Apollo, Ep 98

Apollo, also known as Phoebus Apollo, is the God of the Sun, Music, Medicine and Plagues. He is son of Leto and Zeus, younger twin brother of Artemis, half-brother of Eris, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, and Hebe, and father of Asclepius. He is the main antagonist of Lore Olympus.

Appearance

Like his sister, Apollo has violet skin and dark purple hair. When feeling strong emotions or using his powers, his eyes glow gold. In his true form, which he reveals while chasing down Daphne, his skin, hair, and eyes become completely gold.

While on Olympus, Apollo wears dark purple clothing, including jackets and long-sleeved shirts. In the Mortal Realm, Apollo wears off-white and golden tunics.

Biography

The God of Hubris

Apollo was born the younger twin brother of Artemis to the Titan sun goddess Leto. Apollo inherited his mother’s sun god powers and became an Olympian, recognized as one of the most important Gods of Olympus.

When Apollo learned that the queen of Thebes Niobe boasted how her family was superior to his, he and Artemis murdered 13 of Niobe’s children in revenge for her hubris. Despite their act of wrath being illegal, neither Apollo nor Artemis were ever punished for the murders and were in fact rewarded for their deed.

At one point Apollo sired a demigod son named Asclepius with a mortal woman, who Apollo would use to gain information from Asclepius's clients. After learning from his son that the King of the Underworld Hades was infertile, Apollo quickly revealed his secret to all of Olympus, resulting in a permanent ban of all sun gods from the Underworld.

An Expanding Violet

ApollomeetsPersephone

Apollo meets Persephone.

Apollo, along with his roommate and best friend Hermes, casually wait for Artemis and Persephone to finish their shopping. Apollo, upon seeing how attractive Persephone is, takes an instant liking to her and attempts to look cool by posing in front of his car until Hermes exits the car and greets Persephone first as the two have known each other longer. Apollo quickly interrupts their reunion to introduce himself to Persephone, who was overwhelmed by his aggression.

While they drive to the nearest grocery store, Persephone describes her encounter with Hades and her stay in the underworld, much to the envy of Apollo, who passive aggressively insists that Hades was only nice to her so he could sleep with her, which Persephone denies. While they shop for groceries, Apollo attempts to help Persephone but she quickly avoids him at every attempt, further aggravating Apollo.

Arriving at Artemis’s home, Apollo suggests that Artemis should cover up and not show off too much skin to which Artemis retaliates by slapping Apollo and suggests he should cover his “stupid face”. Artemis annoyed at Apollo for his rude behavior and embarrassment tells him to stop bothering Persephone, only to discover Persephone had cut herself while cooking dinner. As Hermes and Artemis search for a first aid kit, Persephone and Apollo are left alone where Apollo apologizes for his rude behavior and asks to start over to which Persephone reluctantly agrees to. Apollo then heals her hand and takes a picture with Persephone, startling her. The four friends then spent the rest of the day playing games and watching movies.

Later that night, after Persephone and Artemis went to bed, Apollo left Hermes sleeping on the couch while he snuck into Persephone’s room. Taking advantage of Persephone’s exhaustion, Apollo forced himself on to Persephone and raped her, despite her struggles and begging Apollo to stop. After he was finished, Apollo took pictures of Persephone as a trophy. Apollo then asked Persephone to keep what they did a secret and proclaiming her his girl, as he leaves the room.

The next day, Apollo, after getting her phone number from Hermes, kept messaging Persephone, though she ignored the messages. Remembering Persephone is attending University, Apollo arrived at her school just as she had gotten out of class, offering to give her a ride. As they drive off, Persephone tells Apollo that what they did last night can never happen again, as she is suppose to be a sacred virgin. Despite her assurance on the matter, Apollo refuses to believe that she doesn’t like him, and gaslights Persephone about last night and tells her that she can’t go back now that she has slept with him. Disgusted by his abrasive attitude, Persephone demands that Apollo stop the car and let her out.

As they argue they are interrupted by the arrival of Cerberus, Hades’ dog who Persephone bonded with while in the Underworld. Having sensed Persephone was in distress, Cerberus quickly arrives at Persephone’s location and forcefully stops Apollo’s car. Apollo is then surprised to see Persephone is able to calm the gatekeeper of the underworld, who makes it clear to Apollo that he does not like him. Seeing Cerberus’s aggression towards Apollo, Persephone tells Apollo to leave so she can take him back to the Underworld. Apollo drives off, infuriated by Persephone and Cerberus.

Apollo intimidates Persephone.

The next day, Apollo confronts Persephone at Artemis’s house about the things she said but Persephone brushes him off. As she walks away from him, Apollo grabs Persephone aggressively but let’s go of her once Artemis enters the room. Artemis in excitement for Persephone’s new job, reveals that Persephone is working in the Underworld, upsetting Apollo. Despite Apollo’s protest Persephone leaves for her interview with Hades, refusing Apollo’s offer to drive her. Apollo is later seen parked outside Artemis’s house, watching Hades drop Persephone off at home, jealous and furious at how close the two seem, while proclaiming to himself that Persephone is his girl.

Over the next few days, Apollo would continue to harass Persephone with constant text messages and phone calls, all of which she ignored, which only fueled Apollo’s rage. In an effort to keep Persephone and Hades separate, Apollo called Artemis and revealed how he saw Hades and Persephone together and that Persephone may not be taking her duties in TGOEM seriously in the hopes that Artemis will keep them apart.

Hades confronts Apollo.

While waiting for Persephone to return home, Apollo notices Hades’s car and Persephone inside. Realizing that Persephone has spent the day with Hades again, Apollo marches over to Hades car and demanded Persephone to exit the car, and expressing how they were supposed to have a date. Hades, noticing that Persephone is uncomfortable with Apollo, exits the car and keeps Apollo away from Persephone. Apollo in return mocks Hades for thinking that Persephone cares about him until Persephone stands up for Hades and demands Apollo to leave. When Apollo refuses to leave, Hades summons his brother Poseidon to take Apollo to the mortal realm. Poseidon then takes Apollo away, giving him no time to react as they teleport to earth.

Persephone lashes out at Apollo.

A few days after being dragged away from Poseidon, Apollo and Hermes arrive at Artemis’s house where Apollo makes everyone crepes for breakfast and is uncharacteristically calm and polite to Persephone, who is still weary of Apollo. After Hermes and Artemis leave for work, Persephone tries to leave for school, but Apollo insists she stay and eat more, as the two have a lot to talk about. When Persephone refuses to listen to Apollo, he accuses Persephone of being ungrateful that Apollo is giving her so much attention and proclaims his feelings for her. Apollo, believing that Persephone is mad about Apollo wanting to keep their relationship a secret, suggests they go public with their relationship. Apollo even offers to make Persephone an Olympian. Persephone, exasperated by Apollo, proclaims that whatever Apollo believes they are a figment of his diluted mind, reinforced by the fact that Apollo doesn’t know anything about Persephone and that she is only tolerating him for the sake of her friendship with Artemis. When Apollo brings up the night they had together, Persephone assures Apollo that there was no “we” that night and that Persephone was just unfortunate to be there. Uncomfortable by what she is implying, Apollo tries to get Persephone to admit that she likes him as everyone is supposed to like him, which is not true.

Seeing how delusional Apollo is, Persephone takes Apollo upstairs and reveals to him his lyre that she stole and destroyed as revenge for what he has put her through. Persephone reassures Apollo that he does not love her, only the need to control her and emphasizing again how much she doesn’t like him and is in fact afraid of him.

Despite Persephone’s words, Apollo refuses to believe any of it is true and accuses Hades of planting the negative ideas about him in her head and begs her to stop hanging around Hades but Persephone assures Apollo that Hades never said anything about Apollo and that they don’t even talk about him.

Now completely consumed by his delusions, Apollo tries again to convince Persephone that she needs time to think over his offer and to apologize for destroying his lyre. When Persephone refuses to do either, Apollo reminds her that Zeus and Hera don’t like each other that much either but he is willing to settle for the same relationship with Persephone and that one way or another he will make her his wife.

ErosdefendsPersephone

As the two argue back and forth, Eros, Persephone’s best friend, arrives at Artemis’s house and sees Apollo and Persephone arguing from her room. Believing his friend to be in danger, Eros begins firing his arrows at Apollo, cutting Apollo’s cheek in the process. Unfazed by Eros’s attack, Apollo goes on to tell Persephone that he knows more about her than she thinks and calls her out on being a fertility goddess. Before Apollo can say or do anything else, Eros crashes in through the window and threatens Apollo to stay away from Persephone or he would ruin any chance of Apollo finding love. Humored by Eros’s threat, Apollo bids farewell to Persephone, telling her he’ll see her next Friday as he teleports away.

ApollohelpsThanatos

Apollo helps Thanatos.

After being ignored by Persephone following their argument, Apollo while at home, is tainted by Hermes over his relationship with Persephone. Apollo insists that she’ll come around. Apollo later answer the door to find Hermes’s co-worker Thanatos had come over to play video games with him. Apollo overhears Thanatos questioning him about Persephone. When Hermes refuses to tell Thanatos about Persephone, Apollo offers to help as revenge against Persephone. Apollo suggests he ask Helios the Titan God of the Sun as he sees everything that happens in the mortal realm and offers to take him on his way to work.

On their way to see Helios, Apollo takes a detour to pick up Daphne, a flower nymph who has been interested in Apollo. When they arrive in the mortal realm, Apollo sulks about his relationship with Persephone, being comforted by Daphne. When Daphne started giving Thanatos attention, Apollo interrupts them and warns Thanatos to choose his questions wisely as only sun gods like himself are able to withstand Helios’s heat.

Apollo&Persephone

A few days later, while out on a date with Daphne, Apollo runs in to Persephone. Upon seeing that Apollo is now dating her friend, Persephone demands he break up with her out of concern for Daphne’s safety. Apollo ignores her and proclaims she is just jealous until Persephone threatens to tell Daphne that Apollo raped her. Apollo then blackmails Persephone to keep what happened a secret with the photos he took of her while raping her, threatening to spread them all over Olympus. However, his attempts to spread the photos of him raping Persephone is thwarted by Hephaestus and his AI assistant, Aetna who were able to track down the source of the rape photos and destroy them.

Personality

Apollo is very confident in himself, his appearance, and his abilities. He is arrogant to the point of narcissism. He often disregards the feelings and wishes of others and doesn't really seem to care for anyone other than himself. Apollo’s ego is inflated to the point where he believes everyone likes him and refuses to believe otherwise, initially flirting with any new woman he comes across, such as Ampelus, Daphne, and Persephone. He is also extremely possessive, as upon deciding Persephone is "his girl" he begins showing up uninvited to "chaperone" her without consent and ignores the signs of her dislike for him. What is quite possibly the most unsettling aspect of Apollo’s character is his utter delusion to his surroundings and himself. As a result of his spoiled and narcissistic life, Apollo has a twisted perception of reality, deceiving himself into believing what he wants to believe regardless of the truth, and will do anything in his power to ensure others see his point of view as absolute fact, and willing to go to extreme lengths to ensure it happens. After being struck by the arrow of hate, Apollo was shown to know in his heart what he did to Persephone, but it is unclear if this is to keep himself from feeling any guilt as he is shown to have no remorse for his crimes. Overall, Apollo appears to desire control and attention above all else, and as a result comes across as over-confident, narcissistic, and misogynistic during his interactions with others. It is revealed by Hera that Apollo never takes no for an answer which reveals his obsession of Persephone. This is linked to his intense ambition, as it is hinted in Episode 145 that he may want to consume Persephone to gain her power as a fertility goddess so he can overthrow Zeus and become ruler of the gods. He is also a skilled liar thinking that he is dating Persephone, in actuality which is not true and is confirmed to be very delusional by both Persephone and his mother, Leto. In Episode 190, Apollo took things too far which causes everything around him to fall apart thanks to Persephone who finally stands up for herself and hits him in the head with a vase revealing his lies and exposes him for his crimes after he was banned from court by Zeus which he didn't listen. Later on, in upcoming Episode 237 Apollo keeps changing his story to hide the truth about what he did to Persephone unaware that she married Hades, but is exposed by Hermes, who tells him to "say more" and gets punched in the face for what he did to his aunt 10 years ago. It is revealed that Apollo has Stockholm Syndrome which allows him to lie and not knowing the consequences since he's the one who actually hurt Persephone and lied about it which finally became his downfall. However, his crime to implicate Hebe as the one to poison Zeus was exposed to Ares by Hera in front of the whole broadcast which allows the God of War, Poseidon, and Hermes to beat him up as punishment.

Relationships

Parents

Zeus

Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto. Leto was once close friends with Hera until Hera discovered Zeus affair with Leto which would unknowingly result in Apollo and his twin sister's birth once Leto was banished. Leto never revealed who fathered her children and despite Hera's initial anger over the affair, it would seem Hera never let it cloud her judgement as Hera and Zeus chose the twins to become Olympians and live on Olympus many years later.

Although he was unaware Apollo and Artemis were his children, others, including Leto, soon realized Apollo became his favorite Olympian. When Queen Niobe of Thebes claims that her family was superior to Leto's, both Artemis and Apollo killed 13 of the Queen's 14 children for insulting their mother and family. Instead of being punished for not receiving a permit beforehand, the two were given medals which further proved Zeus' favoritism.

Helios, apollo, and zeus

Zeus and Apollo in the Mortal Realm.

When Hera asked what he thought of Apollo, Zeus believed Apollo was a younger version of himself. When Hera tries to discuss with Zeus about her vision of Persephone and Apollo possibly being the one who hurt her, Zeus was quick to defend Apollo. He believes it was danger of Hera to make a serious accusation without proof and if Apollo had done anything, it would be a PR mess, make everyone doubt their abilities to choose Olympians, and be completely worthless as Persephone was just a "B graded Goddess."

When Zeus is in the Mortal Realm looking for proof of Persephone's act of wrath, the two meet and when Apollo asks him about wanting to marry Persephone, Zeus refuses and says to Apollo that he is not a good match for Persephone. Apollo arrives at Zeus's house when he hears Hera is feeling ill and tries to once again gain Zeus's blessings to marry Persephone. Zeus, tired with the discussion and Apollo's demanding Persephone be given to him, reminds Apollo who he's speaking to. Apollo quickly changes the subject before leaving, telling Zeus that his mother sends her regards.

Zeus orders Apollo to leave.

Zeus orders Apollo to leave.

After Leto captures Demeter, she gives her to Apollo as a way for him to bargain and gain Persephone's hand in marriage. Once Apollo delivers her, Zeus tells Apollo he will reconsider the proposal, but Apollo thought he took it as a yes and has started to tell the paparazzi that the engagement will be underway soon. When Hades discovers this, he immediately comforts his brother only to discover Apollo was there as well. The two start to argue until Zeus stops them and orders Apollo to leave for antagonizing Hades. Zeus then defends himself by telling Hades and Poseidon that he only said he would consider it but had no plans on acting on it.

As the first day of the trial ends, Hades calls out the hypocrisy between Apollo and Artemis against Persephone as both parties did not receive a permit to commit their act of wrath, but the twins were praised and given medals while Persephone is being held accountable and put on trial which clearly upsets Zeus. However, after Apollo reveals that he is related to Zeus, the God of Thunder realizes his mistakes knowing that Apollo has gone too far with his hubris and reached his verdict to make sure that Apollo's obsession with Persephone is stopped by banishing her to the Mortal Realm and cutting it off from both Olympus and the Underworld.

During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, shocking Zeus and Artemis in the process. In Episodes 253 and 254, with the help of Ouranos, he poisoned his father and frames Hebe so he can cover up his crimes in order to satisfy his needs in an attempt to rule Olympus.

Leto

Apolloletogossip

Apollo and Leto gossiping.

Leto is Apollo's Mother. The two are shown to have a close relationship, much closer than Leto and Artemis. As Apollo grew up, Leto wanted her son to have everything and is shown to do anything to help him achieve it. When Queen Niobe of Thebes claims that her family was superior to Leto's, both Artemis and Apollo killed 13 of the Queen's 14 children for insulting their mother and family.

When Leto first appears, she approves of Apollo's decision to marry Persephone, appearing to encourage him to pursue her. Leto calls Persephone "my future daughter-in-law," and asks Apollo what he is doing to smooth things over with her. When Apollo explains that she is spending all her time with Hades in the Underworld, Leto decides to "pay a little visit" there, showing that she will pull strings for her son if needed. She doesn't know that her son was the real reason that Persephone ran away because of his blackmailing habits.

Apollo's obsession of Persephone comes to light when Leto confirms to her son that Persephone is not in a relationship with him but is dating Hades and reveals that the goddess of spring really hates him. Despite this, Leto still wishes to help Apollo and does so by showing him that she caught Demeter as a bird and trapped her in a cage. By doing so, Apollo could bargain with Zeus and get his blessings to marry her, which will never happen.

During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, shocking Zeus and Artemis. It is unknown when Apollo discovered this but unlike his sister, he is shown to have known the truth of their parents' affair for some time.

Hera

Hera is Apollo's step-mother. Hera and Leto were once best friends until Hera exiled Leto due to her affair with Zeus which resulted in Apollo and Artemis' birth. As years passed, the twins would choose to be Olympians by Zeus and Hera. It is unknown how Hera felt about Apollo before discovering his assault on Persephone and if her past friendship with his mother affected her view on him. She was aware that Hades and Apollo had a deep hatred for each other and used this when she showed Hades a picture of Apollo and Persephone after discovering Hades' attraction to Persephone. She would later regret this action, especially when she realizes that Persephone looked frighten in the picture.

Hera and apollo

Hera knows what Apollo did.

After Hera has a vision of Persephone being assaulted, she starts to look for who was responsible and wonder if Apollo could have been the one. She asks for Zeus' input, but Zeus was quick to shut her down on her theory and state that even if the vision was true and Apollo was responsible, it would be a PR nightmare and make people doubt their ability to choose Olympians. When Hera is going over a list of suitors for Persephone, it's shown that she has crossed out Apollo's name very early on. After discovering Zeus was continuing on with affairs, Zeus changes the subject and argues that she has become obsessed with Apollo and how it's been affecting her duties. Despite her better judgment, she decides to drop the investigation at the time when Zeus mentions that Persephone would have come to her if something had truly happened.

When Hera, disguised as Persephone to have lunch with Demeter, is confronted by Apollo and realizes she was right. While Apollo does not fully confess to the event, he grabs "Persephone's" arm only to be burned and Hera to reveal herself. She leaves with a warning and goes back to the investigation in her office. Apollo, realizing that Hera is suspicious, arrives and states that he and Persephone are in a secret relationship and request for Hera to approve the marriage. Hera burst out laughing and shreds his application before burning it in her hands and tells him "No." Hera would meet with Persephone and when she confesses to the assault, goes on the hunt to find Persephone's phone and delete the pictures. Hera calls her estranged son, Hephaestus, for help and the photos are soon destroyed. When Apollo tries to look at the pictures in his phone, he soon realizes there is something wrong with it but seemingly doesn't realize Hera and Hephaestus' part in it.

During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, shocking Zeus and angering Hera. In Episode 268, Apollo's crimes come to light when Hera tells Ares what actually happened to Hebe, and he gets punished by the three gods.

Despite the two having different relationship with their mother, the two loved her deeply, enough so that when Queen Niobe of Thebes claims that her family was superior to Leto's, both Artemis and Apollo killed 13 of the Queen's 14 children for insulting their mother and family. The two did so without a permit to commit their act of wrath and were awarded medals for their accomplishments instead of punished like others would be. Aphrodite would claim that Zeus was playing favorites by allowing them to do this when he threatens to punish Eros, her son and Zeus' grandchild.

Eventually Persephone is found but refuses to come home and tells Artemis she hates Apollo. Artemis goes to confront him, but the argument is interrupted when their mother arrives. Apollo then lies and states that he and Persephone had a short flirtation relationship which only angers Artemis has Apollo knew full well that Persephone was a TGOEM candidate. Apollo states she was spreading rumors, so she doesn't lose her scholarship with the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood. Artemis, overwhelmed, leaves her brother and mother. Artemis leaves, not fully convince that Apollo was telling the whole story but also doubts Persephone as Apollo is her twin brother.

Artemis, feud up with the lies and secrets surrounding her, goes to Hermes, Apollo's best friend and roommate, for answers. Although they did not get answers, Hermes opens up that he has started to noticed signs he didn't before. Artemis meets Apollo in the courthouse during Persephone's trial and is curious when she sees him dressed formally but when she asks him why, he defends himself by saying he deserves to dress that way. After discovering he was kicked out by Zeus, Apollo tells her that everything he is doing is to make a better life for their family. During the trial, Hades recalls the twins killing Niobe's family and Artemis reveals that she let one child survive unlike Apollo.

Extended Family

Hades

Unknown to Apollo for some time, Hades is Apollo's uncle from Zeus. Hades and Apollo have a mutual disdain for each other. Their hostility resulted from Apollo getting his son Asclepius to reveal Hades' infertility to him and then revealed it to the rest of Olympus for no real reason other than entertainment, resulting in a permanent ban of all sun gods from entering the Underworld. Apollo, in return, believes Hades is jealous that Apollo has a better reputation than he does. After seeing how close Hades and Persephone are, Apollo becomes jealous of Hades and Persephone’s growing friendship and has tried to get between them multiple times.

Apollo&Hades

Hades' dislike for Apollo grows when seeing Persephone is frighten by him and argues with him to leave her alone. Apollo tries to belittle Hades by stating he was pathetic for making believe that Persephone would caring about him, but Persephone had found the courage to stand up to Apollo to tell him otherwise. Hades was quick to call Poseidon in order for him to leave Persephone alone. Afterwards, he wonders why Persephone is so fearful of Apollo and wonders if him showing up to her home unannounced is a reoccurring event.

Apollo hades

Apollo taunts Hades.

As Persephone's trial begins, the couple discover Apollo has petition Zeus in order to marry her from a reporter which prompts Persephone to call it pathetic. While she seems calm about it, once she is alone with Hades, she panics over the chance of Zeus marrying her off to Apollo. Hades arrives to confront his brother, unaware Apollo was present, and states that Hades and Persephone had played house long enough.

Hades, furious over the news and knowing Persephone is terrified of him, starts to transform into his true form and when he accidentally calls Persephone his wife, Apollo comments on his statement which causes Hades to become bashful and stutter. Before the argument can go further, Zeus orders Apollo to leave and tells his brothers he only planned on reconsidering the marriage but never planned to go through it. Before leaving, Hades warns Zeus that Persephone is afraid of Apollo.

As the trial begins, Hades calls out the hypocrisy between Apollo and Artemis against Persephone as both parties did not receive a permit to commit their act of wrath, but the twins were praised and given medals while Persephone is being held accountable. When Hades finishes his defense, he goes off to compliment Persephone and Apollo is shown to roll his eyes when hearing him on the tv. As the first day ends and Demeter and Persephone leave to talk in private, Hades finds himself outside the room where Apollo is trying to convince Hephaestus that Persephone was "lying" about the assault being against her will. Before he can go on, Hades interrupts and questions Apollo's conversation with his nephew with his eyes glowing red with anger.

Not long after, Hades leaves and would discover the truth from Persephone. Hades is filled with rage and transforms into a Titan with the goal of killing Apollo but stops upon Persephone's begging him to stay with her. After she calms him down, Hades apologizes to her and tells her that Apollo is the one who should be on trial.

During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, shocking Hades. In Episode 254, he tries to take his aunt away from his uncle, but Hades himself tells him that he doesn't have any right and authority to do so.

Persephone

Persephone is the roommate of Apollo's twin sister, Artemis and aunt through her marriage to Hades. When he first meets her, he immediately begins to hit on her. When he learns that she spent the night in the Underworld with Hades, he makes it a point to belittle her and her new friendship with the King of the Underworld due to slight jealousy. Persephone feels uneasy around him and is often intimidated by his overbearing personality.

The same night that they meet, Apollo pressures and coerces Persephone into sleeping with him. Persephone, heavy with confusion and doubt over this perceived "freedom", is unable to stave off his advances. When Apollo finishes, he tells Persephone not to forget that she is "his girl," and walks out of the room, leaving Persephone confused and violated. As Persephone is slated to become a member of TGOEM, which requires a vow of celibacy, she is especially conflicted and does not at first realize Apollo has assaulted her. Apollo continues to harass Persephone, seeming to believe they are in a relationship. He shows up unannounced to drive Persephone home from her classes and often comes to the house looking for her.

ApollowantsPersephone

Apollo in "love" with Persephone.

In Episode 97, Apollo claims he has feelings for Persephone. When Persephone is unable to make him realize she doesn't like him, she shows him his lyre, which she had stolen to break. Apollo is shocked and distressed that his lyre is now ruined. She tells him that his broken lyre represents a small fraction of her hate towards him. After a confrontation, Apollo claims Persephone doesn't have to love him to be his wife. He also believes Persephone is a fertility goddess and tells her she either knows that and is lying to herself or her mother is hiding it from her.

Persephone is still scared of Apollo, but Eros and "Ampelus" arrive to drive Apollo away telling him to leave her alone. He appears unfazed by the interruption and simply states "see you next Friday", mocking what Persephone stated earlier about Friday being the only time she acknowledges him when he comes to visit his sister. Although he wants to marry Persephone, it appears this is only to fuel his own ego: by marrying a descendant of the Six Traitors, he is further supporting his fame as an Olympian. It is also hinted, though not confirmed, that he may want to consume her so he can gain her powers and become the next ruler of the gods as he came to realize she was a Fertility Goddess during the argument.

PersephoneThreatensApollo

Persephone threatens to expose Apollo.

In Episode 113, Persephone is horrified to learn Apollo has begun dating Daphne. She warns him to stay away from her, but Apollo responds that he is simply doing what Persephone asked by making someone else "his Olympian." In response, Persephone tells him she will reveal to both Daphne and Artemis what Apollo did to her. Apollo then threatens her with the pictures that he took of her during her assault, claiming that he will expose her breaking her vow of celibacy if she tells anyone. Later on, he asked Hera for his blessing to marry Persephone and is rejected by her causing him to be more obsessive wanting to be a worthy suitor for Demeter's daughter as he left despite being warned and ordered by Demeter to stay away from her, which he never listens. Persephone also calls him a "pig" for invading her personal space.

In Episode 143, Apollo is still obsessive with Persephone unaware that she is hiding from him and still unaware of Aetna deleting the files of his pictures of her and destroying the apps on cellphone under the orders of Hera and her son, Hephaestus to prevent his blackmailing habits and not knowing where Persephone's location is despite her hiding in the Underworld. However, he is unaware that both Persephone and Hades are now dating as a couple which will lead to his downfall because of what he did.

After a discussion with his mother, Leto decides to go and talk to Persephone in his place as she believes the two had a relationship but ended horribly and Persephone not giving Apollo another chance. This fails as Leto comes to realize that either Apollo lied about the relationship or was delusional and that the only way to marry her was to have Zeus hand her over. This would be difficult as Persephone was now in love with Hades. Despite this, Leto still wishes to help Apollo and does so by showing him that she caught Demeter as a bird and trapped her in a cage. Apollo delivers Demeter and Zeus decides to reconsider the marriage, but Apollo took it as a yes and has started to tell the paparazzi that the engagement will be underway soon.

As the trial begins, she discovers that Apollo has petition Zeus in order to marry her from a reporter which prompts Persephone to call it pathetic. While she seems calm about it, once she is alone with Hades, she panics over the chance of Zeus marrying her off to Apollo. Hades arrives to confront his brother, unaware Apollo was present, and states that Hades and Persephone had played house long enough. When Hades accidentally calls Persephone his wife, Apollo comments on his statement which causes Hades to become bashful and stutter. Before the argument can go further, Zeus orders Apollo to leave and tells his brothers he only planned on reconsidering the marriage but never planned to go through it. However, his lies are finally exposed in the second day of the trial and is not allowed to have Persephone for good, thanks to Zeus reaching his verdict and banishing her to the Mortal Realm, cutting it off from both Olympus and the Underworld in the process.

During the last day of Persephone and Demeter's trial, Apollo reveals himself and Artemis to be Zeus' children, shocking Hades and Persephone over the realization. Since Hades revealed his love for Persephone in front of the whole court as she is banished to the Mortal Realm without any communication, Apollo will likely be punished in further episodes for going too far not knowing that Persephone's fate is to marry Hades in order to make the sun god understand that "no" means "no". Still not taking "no" for an answer, he's still obsessed with his aunt and tries to take her from his uncle but is declined in the further chapters. In Episode 268, Apollo thinks he can annul Persephone's marriage to Hades, but this ultimately fails when Hera rescues her sister-in-law from Apollo's threats by telling him off in front of the whole broadcast. This is confirmed that everyone finally knew who Apollo the whole time thanks to Persephone's new death powers was which confirms that Apollo has no right and authority to annul someone else's marriage if it's already blessed by Hera. This confirms that Persephone really hates Apollo because of his obsession and abusive control over her.
